The Liberty Belles is a 501(c)(4) non-profit organization dedicated to dispelling many of the myths and misinformation about the nature of firearms and firearm ownership. Our primary form of communication and activism is generated via the internet. This is the preferred method of communication for our members and supporters as it easily fits in with everyone's schedule. This is particularly true for our female members and supporters who work outside of the home while concurrently raising their children.

The Liberty Belles does, on occassion, organize or participate in community oriented events at local shooting ranges. We also organize or participate in community outreach events and political rallies, if timing and public interest calls for such an event. The Liberty Belles has appeared on television, at collegiate debates, and on numerous AM and internet radio talk show programs.

The Liberty Belles was founded in August, 2001 with the ultimate goal of securing our self-defense liberties by repealing unjust anti-self defense laws. Such a goal cannot be attained by one organization alone, but requires the input, assistance, and talent of many organizations and people. With that in mind, we gladly support and cooperate with other pro-Second Amendment organizations as needed to further educate the public about the true nature, origin, and result of unjust, anti-self defense laws.

Gun owners tend to be very independent people who are not prone to joining, being part of the group, or subscribing to any particular ideology. They value their privacy just as much as they value their guns. And, they tend not to compromise on their beliefs. Gun owners frequently place philosophy over party affiliation even it means voting outside of their party or not voting at all.

With that in mind, the Liberty Belles does not subscribe to or endorse any political party or candidate. We prefer to educate our members and supporters on the facts about the issues and the activities of our current legislators. We also educate our members and supporters on how to be more effective in their own endeavors to educate their friends, family members, and associates.

Some of our members and supporters have taken the initiative to form their own shooting groups within their communities. Others have gone on to become certified firearm instructors offering free introductory training classes on a periodic basis. We strongly support the efforts of the individual and appreciate their participation in ensuring liberty for future generations.
